From Larry Davis:

Saw the obituary in the Dallas News today, 1-28-11 Terry was a good friend, although "different" - however, it was a difference that as I recall more endeared him to us all than made us withdraw. He also lived not too far from several of my aunts, uncles, and cousins. For his partner left behind, I hope that you will always continue to share those memories of Terry that make you smile.....those are the thoughts that enable us to go on. Pet "peeve" - we do not SURVIVE our spouses, partners, loved ones - we continue on to share their memories in all that we do.

Terry, I will truly miss you. You have been one of my most favorite memories of high school. What an incredible blessing to see you at the last reunion.

Hey, Hey..We"re the Monkees.....it was Terry that asked me to see the Monkees Concert in Dallas. What fun!!! And after the concert, we had hamburgers at Chubby's. I am so glad that I was able to thank you again for the invitation so many years ago and you remembered as soon as I started singing. Your laughter at my singing and the memories was incredible.

Thanks Terry for the memories of your constant smile and encouragement. Speed on to the Angels dear friend.

With love and admiration.

Terry Thornton was a wonderful guy.  His sense of style and good humor made him a unique personality in our class.  I was delighted to learn that Neiman Marcus recognized that style and provided him a distinguished career.   I plan to attend his memorial service on Thursday and look forward to being among those who will celebrate his life.

As I was looking over many of the yearbook photos and memories at the reunion, Terry walked up behind me and started sharing stories about our high school days.  He made me laugh at a few things and helped bring back some great memories.  Talking with him was like talking to someone I had seen every day...not years ago.  He will be missed.  Shirley Russell

I was glad to see Terry at our class 40th reunion - albeit a very short visit. He was tall & gracious - just as I remember him from school.

There were several articles about him online: Women's Wear Daily & others. Here are the links to read more about Terry's accomplishments.  He will be missed.
