THE LAST TIME I SAW TINA WAS SEVERAL YEARS AGO AT HER HOME ON THE CORNER OF GLENWICK AND THE SIDE STREET THAT WAS HER ADDRESS, I CAN'T REMEMBER THE NAME OF THE CROSS STREET NOT FAR SOUTH OF SHADY GROVE. I WENT TO INVESTIGATE A BURGLARY OF HER RESIDENCE WHILE I WAS STILL A COP. I CONDUCTED THE INVESTIGATION, DUSTED FOR PRINTS AND CAUGHT THE GUY. WE SPOKE OF HER COURT REPORTING AT WHICH SHE WAS MAKING GOOD MONEY. WE SPOKE OF HIGHSCHOOL DAYS, TOO. SHE WAS LOOKING GOOD AND FEELING GOOD. WE HUGGED AND I COMFORTED HER ABOUT THE PSYCHOLOGICAL FEELINGS FROM BEING VIOLATED. I WAS SO HAPPY TO SEE HER AGAIN IN SPITE OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES. SHE WAS SO HAPPY WHEN WE CAUGHT THE SCUMBAG AND GOT HER STUFF BACK. I STOPPED BY FROM TIME TO TIME TO LET HER KNOW SHE WAS GETTING SPECIAL PATROL PROTECTION.
SHE WAS A SWEET GIRL AND ALWAYS WAS.I WILL MISS HER.

Bob:
Thanks for the kind words. Tina was my cousin and we miss her dearly. She was one of the nicest people you could ever meet. Her parents still live on Britain Road in Irving.

Tina was a great gal. I worked with her in several depositions. The house her parents live in was the first house my family lived in when we moved to Irving in 1952.

My freshman year, I was new to the city of Irving. Tina and I had a class together and she became one of my first friends. Throughout high school we had numerous classes together (and a lot of fun).

The next two summers, we spent a considerable time together. We were pre-driver’s license so I would ride my bicycle over to Tina’s house and then we would take her family’s bicycle-built-for-two and cruise around town. Trips to the Senter Park pool, Polar Bear Ice Cream, Griff’s Burgers, the old Irving Theater or even the Library were common. It was a gentler, more innocent time. I met my Sophomore year boyfriend (Lance Bachran) when he was moving into his house on Sixth Street while riding my bicycle to Tina’s house.

Tina was almost always cheerful and her sense of humor made me laugh often. That’s what I remember most about Tina, joy and laughter. I didn’t see her as much after I got my license because I had to work to pay vehicle expenses but we still enjoyed each others company at school. I remember her artistic work restoring and tole painting old steamer style trunks.

Even after she went to Court Reporting School in Topeka, KS, we stayed in touch until she moved to Arkansas to run a real chicken ranch (not a brothel like the one in LaGrange). At the time, my husband was career Army so we were frequently moving. I lost her address and never followed up to contact her again. Wish I had. She was a wonderful person and a great friend.
