Johnny Ellis

We were just notified that our classmate Johnny Ellis passed away on April 29th while in hospice care in Graham, Texas.  Johnny's daughter told Cynthia Dixon that she'd let know about a memorial or service.

Please keep Johnny Ellis's family in your thoughts and prayers.

Johnny was always an ally, friendly, supportive & had great sense of humor. I enjoyed our communication on Facebook. I remember remarking that not only were we on the same yearbook page (D & E), but his birthday is one day before mine. (May 20) So sorry that I didn't even know he was sick, but he never let on & never mentioned anything on Facebook. He took a hiatus from posting & I even went to his page on 3/22/15 & wrote that I hadn't seen him. It was an honor to know Johnny. He was one of the good guys.  Love, Cynthia

This is Chuck Forbis, Johnny's cousin. I am posting this for those who can't see the other "friend posts" on his page. Johnny died last Wednesday morning at about 6:00 am. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last fall. A couple of weeks ago, the doctors found that it had spread to his liver and abdomen. He had been relatively comfortable through most of the ordeal though the last few days his condition degraded quickly. He tried a few times to update his FB page but was unable to get a connection from his hospice room. He had so many good friends that he wanted to communicate with but it just wasn't in the cards. His memorial service will be at the National Cemetery in Grand Prairie. The time and date are still to be determined. I will post that information on his page as soon as we have it.
