 Here's Martin's obituary from 1969:

Funeral services for Pfc. Martin Wayne Droigk, Farmers Branch (formerly of Irving), were to be held at 2:30 Wednesday. Services and burial at Restland will be under direction of Restland - Laurel Land Funeral Homes.

Pfc. Droigk, age 19, will be buried with full military honors. He died Monday aboard the USS Sanctuary, a hospital ship, from wounds sustained at Quang Tri, Vietnam on July 10.

He had been serving with the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines Regiment since April 8. He received basic training at San Diego and advanced training at nearby Camp Pendleton before his transfer to Cam Lo, Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Compton Droigk, an R. L. Turner High School student and lifetime resident of Farmers Branch; mother, Mrs. B. F. Spikes, Irving; father Walter A. Droigk, Hobbs, N. M. brothers, Harold Droigk and Quincy, Albert Droigk, both of Irving; maternal grandmother, Mrs. A. M. Norris, Argyle and paternal grandmother, Mrs. A. M. Droigk, Lake Arthur, N.M.

Remembering Martin today. Seems that 41 years ago, our class was finishing up the school year & preparing to graduate as Martin was off defending our country.
