A Celebration of Life and Fireman’s Wake service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 4, 2021 at First Church of Christ Scientist located at 2250 W. Pioneer Dr., Irving, TX 75061.

Mike Dorety, 68, of Crowley, Texas died March 20, 2020. Mike was born on June 7, 1951 in Grapevine, Texas to Clarence James Dorety and Billie Jo (Lester) Dorety. Mike served his country and community first in the United States Marines Corps for six years and then for thirty-nine years with the Dallas Fire Department, retiring in 2010. He was a member of the Dallas Firefighters Association IAFF Local 58 and an active rider with the Wind & Fire Motorcycle Club, a member of the Burleson Masonic Lodge #649 and American Legion Post #235 of Burleson. Mike for the past many years was committed as an officer and member of the Kit Cemetery Association of Irving where many of his family are interned and he himself will be buried. As a loving husband, father and proudest ‘Poppa’ ever, Mike is survived by his wife Susan Russell Dorety; his children, Michael Dorety and his wife Crystal, of Waxahachie, and Heather Dorety Ehmer and her husband Jonathan, of Grapevine; three grandchildren Colton, Tyler and Noah; and his four sisters Vicki Stover and husband Bob of VanAlstyne, Cynthia Dean, of Lewisville, Lisa McDonald, of Wylie and Deborah Johnson, of Eastland.

The Family wishes to attempt to wait until restrictions and health concerns lessen before scheduling a funeral service to celebrate mike’s life, they request your patience to wait until further notice to gather, remember and honor Mike. A small private family gathering and committal service will occur at Kit Cemetery in Irving, Texas.

Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas or to Shriners Hospital Galveston Burn Center (**Please Note** ) During your donation, you will be asked “Direct my gift to” – Please choose the Galveston location within the drop box.

A small and private Family Gathering and Committal Service will occur on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Kit Cemetery in Irving, Texas
